Skiing and ski conditions
The ski area around the almost unknown before some years small town, called Bansko, is on it's way to become one of the most developed and provided with all utilities ski resorts in Bulgaria. The place became famous among the enthusiastic skiers during the last 10 years.
Pirin is the country's second highest mountain with typical alpine profile and great slopes ideal for skiing in the winter. Forty peaks rise at a height of more than 2600m. The highest peak Vihren rises at 2915m.

Snow falls are abudant, providing a constant winter snow cover up to 2 m thick. The skiing season along the Pirin slopes starts in the middle of December and ends in mid-April. |
The skiing conditions in Bansko are excellent. The Pirin mountain has a predonantly Alpine charachter with three peaks towering above 2900 m. However the slopes offer runs and tracks for all types of skiers, from novice to the experts, while the ski runs are maintained in excellent condition.

The ski resort offers about 11 ski runs und 4 ski tracks with total lenght of more than 50 km. There could be different combinations going through very easy to very tough slopes. |
